Legends of Heretrua: Rulers of Light by Bethanny Lawson

I received this book from the author for the purpose of this review. All comments and opinions are entirely my own.

The Synopsis:

When Evelyn is sucked from everything she’s ever known into another world it could be all of her biggest dreams come true or her life could end in disaster. Everyone is depending on her to prevent war. As the two rival kingdoms of this world clash, what will happen to Evelyn? Is she prepared to hold the fate of the world in her hands alone?

Rulers of Light is the first book in Bethanny’s new fantasy series Legends of Heretrua.

Bethanny Lawson wrote Legends of Heretrua: Rulers of Light at fourteen, revised and perfected it for almost two years, and finally published it a few days after her sixteenth birthday

Review:

Legends of Heretrua: Rulers of Light is a book with relatable characters, fascinating storylines, and excellent description of scenes.

From page one we are thrown into the world of Evelyn and her friends as they try to prevent the war that they all fear is coming up quickly. She has to chose between light and dark, kingdom and kingdom, and ultimately has to chose which side wins.

The writing is smooth and moves the book quickly though the adventure and the content is completely clean, no language or sexual anything. Many readers who are used to high levels of suspense and lots of action may not be interested in this particular book simply because it is on the down side of those aspects, but it is perfect for readers who are new to YA and just being introduced to fantasy novels.

Overall, I really enjoyed Legends of Heretrua: Rulers of Light and rate it 5 out of 5 stars.
